Programs for every age, every setting!
We partners with schools, camps, community organizations, and park districts across Chicago to bring hands-on cooking classes to kids from preschool through high school. Whether it's weekly after-school enrichment, a one-time field trip, school-day programming, or a summer camp highlight, we tailor each program to fit your students and your schedule.

OUR PARTNERSHIPS
Preschool
Our youngest learners explore food through play, identifying new foods, using age-appropriate tools, building comfort before "picky eating" habits set in.
For example with after-school enrichment at Guidepost Montessori kids as young as 3 years-old cook with us weekly all year long. We visit the same age group at W Montessori once per month with a seasonal recipe that engages students during their school day. At New Einsteins Academy we visit each of three locations during the school day every summer with a special themed recipe to highlight their learning objectives.
Elementary
Elementary students are ready to take on real recipes and more independence in the kitchen. Our classes build hands-on technique while introducing kids to where their food comes from and the basics of good nutrition. Whether you're looking for ongoing after-school programs, like our program with Coonley Elementary, or a memorable one-time field trip experience, like the one Blaine Elementary students enjoy, we'll tailor the program to fit your school.
Middle & High School
As students get older, our classes grow with them. Middle schoolers take on more complex recipes and techniques while building real ownership in the kitchen and open up bigger conversations about food, culture, and identity, like in our after-school program with Elm Middle School.
For high schoolers, the focus shifts toward skill-building: real culinary technique, kitchen safety, and teamwork, through programs like our culinary clubs at
Steinmetz College Prep
and Intrinsic Schools. It's less about novelty and more about giving older students genuine, transferable kitchen skills.
Summer Programming
Summer is the perfect time to make cooking the highlight of camp. Our summer programming, like our camps for PK-3rd grade with
St. Mary's of the Angels brings full weeks of hands-on cooking to campers, building kitchen confidence and food literacy all summer long.
Instead of a single class, students get an immersive experience!
New recipes, new skills, and plenty of pride in what they make, day after day.
Park District
We partner with park districts to bring hands-on cooking programming to recreational and community settings, like our program with the
Elmhurst Park District. Whether you're building out a season of registered classes or looking for a flexible drop-in activity, we'll design a program that works with your group sizes and schedule. Kids of all ages get the same joy of cooking and building kitchen confidence — just in the recreational, community-focused setting park districts do best.
Beyond Mobile Kitchen
Outside our Chicago service area? You can still bring the full Schoolhouse experience to your students. We equip your team with everything needed to run great cooking classes on your own: a complete kit of equipment, seasonal recipes, and hands-on instructor training and ongoing support, like our partnership with CICS-Irving Park. It's the same quality recipes and curriculum, built for schools ready to bring Good Food to their students, wherever they are.
